About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Health is requesting bids on awning and sunshade installation for the Miami-Dade County Health Department at two locations under ITB DOH26-002, with sealed bids due November 10, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. and a mandatory site visit on October 9, 2026. Attendance and signature at both the West Flagler location (10:00 a.m.) and West Perrine location (1:00 p.m.) are required for bid responsiveness.

The scope includes a fixed awning extending 4 feet 6 inches from the building facade along 130 linear feet at West Flagler Street (Miami) with an outside edge height of 8 feet 6 inches above finish grade, and six triangular-shaped sails covering a 45-foot by 45-foot courtyard at West Perrine (Miami). All installations must comply with Florida Building Code requirements for High Velocity Hurricane Zones, with Schedule 40 hot-dip galvanized steel framing and flame-resistant fabric meeting NFPA 701 standards. A Florida-licensed structural engineer must verify the design. Respondents must have a minimum of five years of experience installing sunshades and exterior awnings on commercial properties and must provide three references for similar projects.

The bid price must include all labor, materials, equipment, tools, engineering services, permitting, coordination, and debris removal on an FOB destination basis, with no additional charges permitted. Pricing is submitted separately for each location. Award goes to the responsive, responsible respondent offering the lowest grand total price. The contract term runs from November 1, 2026, or the purchase order issuance date, whichever is later, through June 30, 2027, contingent on legislative appropriation and satisfactory performance. A 10 percent payment reduction applies if tasks are not completed as specified.

Written questions are due October 15, 2026 at 3:00 p.m., with answers posted by October 30. The anticipated notice of intent to award will be posted November 16, 2026. Respondents must register in MyFloridaMarketplace within five days of the intent to award and complete mandatory certifications including vendor certification, statement of non-collusion, scrutinized companies list attestations, and subcontractor and labor attestations.
