About this opportunity
The City of Johns Creek, located in Fulton County, Georgia, is soliciting bids for the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Animal Enclosure Relocation project through Invitation to Bid (ITB) 25-085. The procurement seeks a contractor to complete a comprehensive construction project involving demolition of existing structures, tree removal, and construction of new animal habitat infrastructure. Specific deliverables include poured-in-place concrete walls, slabs, stairs, sidewalks, MSE walls, stainless steel handrails, associated drainage, engineered wood fiber surfacing, and minor electrical work for outlets inside the enclosure area. Bidders must submit a minimum of three references demonstrating experience with similar projects and register through the Georgia Purchasing Group's BidNet online system. The bid is due on March 25th, 2025, at 2:00 PM ET, with a targeted project completion within 90 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, targeting an August 11th, 2025 completion date. Evaluation criteria appear to focus on contractor experience, compliance with bid requirements, and ability to meet project specifications and timeline.
The solicitation does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Contractors must provide a 5% bid bond and, upon award, submit 100% payment and performance bonds. Insurance requirements include workers' compensation and commercial general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per person and $2,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, and $500,000 per occurrence for property damage. Liquidated damages are established at $150 per calendar day for work not completed by the deadline, with 10% retainage to be held by the City. While no specific budget range is listed, the project involves a total construction area of 400 square feet on a 51.55-acre site, with a disturbed area of 0.114 acres. Contractors must be prepared to work in an active park environment, maintaining ongoing park programs while securing the project area. The project will be funded by the City of Johns Creek, with utility services provided by Fulton County Public Works and Sawnee EMC.
