About this opportunity

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) are requesting bids for automatic standby generators at five locations across Missouri, with bids due October 2, 2026 by 2:00 PM Central Time under IFB MODOT 0000000408SL. Bidders claiming American-made products receive a 10% price preference over non-qualifying competitors; multiattribute scoring also weights vendor responsibility and M/WBE participation alongside price.

The scope covers supply, delivery, installation, and removal of existing generators at facilities in Fairmont, Mountain Grove, Jerico Springs, Romance, and Winona. Each generator must meet minimum specifications: 14 kilowatt capacity, propane fuel, 120/240 volt single-phase output, automatic voltage regulation, and hour metering. Bidders may propose alternate brands and models if accompanied by specification sheets and detailed comparison notes. The contract requires propane line and regulator hookup, complete disposal of old equipment, one-year warranty from installation, installation and operator manuals, and at least one authorized service technician available for warranty work. The contractor must maintain spare parts availability for three years post-installation. Delivery is required within 180 calendar days of purchase order receipt.

The contract period runs from notice of award through June 30, 2027. Required documentation includes worker eligibility and lawful presence affidavits (Exhibits A or B), the Anti-Discrimination Against Israel Act Certification (Exhibit M), the Domestic Products Procurement Act Preference (Exhibit N), and Certificate of Liability Insurance naming MHTC/MoDOT as additional insureds with minimum coverage of $600,000 per occurrence and $4,000,000 aggregate for general and business automobile liability.

All suppliers must register in the MissouriBUYS system; responses are accepted only electronically through MissouriBUYS or as sealed hard-copy bids. No pre-bid conference is scheduled, but interested bidders may arrange facility inspections in advance. Questions are due ten calendar days prior to the bid due date.
