About this opportunity
The Houston Airport System is soliciting bids for on-call maintenance, repair, and technical support of automatic doors at airport facilities, with questions due November 5, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. and sealed bids due November 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The procurement will be awarded as a multiple-award agreement with a three-year term. Best-value evaluation considers whether the supplier or its parent company maintains principal operations in Texas or employs at least 500 persons in the state.
Scope covers preventive maintenance and inspections, emergency and routine repair, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, component replacement, sensor calibration, safety testing, and compliance reporting at IAH ICP Departures. Covered door systems include Assa Abloy, Stanley Access Technologies, and Dorma Kaba. Contractors must use Original Equipment Manufacturer parts, guarantee a two-hour emergency response time, provide 24/7 on-call availability, and maintain licensed and certified technicians. Bidders must demonstrate proven automatic door maintenance experience, preferably in airport or high-traffic environments, and comply with airport safety regulations and security protocols. Required insurance includes general liability, automobile liability, and workers' compensation with waivers of subrogation.
Pricing must follow the HAS structure covering hourly labor rates, service call fees, component replacement costs, emergency after-hours rates, and parts and materials. Bid prices must remain firm for one year from the award date. Bids must be submitted on official HAS forms with authorized company signatures.
Evaluation weighs purchase price, supplier reputation, quality, responsiveness to HAS needs, and long-term cost, in addition to the Texas presence criterion. Bidders direct questions to Senior Procurement Specialist Governor Henderson at (281) 233-1091 or Governor.Henderson@houstontx.gov, or to Project Manager Tanisha Smith at tanisha.smith2@houstontx.gov.
