About this opportunity
Western Suffolk BOCES is soliciting sealed bids for Autobody Equipment & Supplies (Bid #24/25-11CP) covering comprehensive automotive body shop materials and equipment. The procurement encompasses approximately 482 line items including sanders, paint guns, abrasives, protective equipment, chemicals, and automotive repair tools and accessories. The bid is scheduled to be opened on April 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with a contract term from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. Evaluation criteria will be weighted, with 80% allocated to hourly rates and material markup and 20% to annual maintenance costs. Bidders must submit both a paper printout and a digital version (CD or flash drive) of their cost proposal. Vendors are required to be certified resellers of the equipment and must provide usage reports upon request. Specific vendor qualifications include compliance with prevailing wage laws, sexual harassment prevention policies, and various state and federal regulatory requirements.
The contract allows participation by municipal and not-for-profit organizations across New York State under General Municipal Law, with contract extensions subject to vendor discretion. No specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly noted in the documentation. The procurement allows for flexible awarding, with Western Suffolk BOCES reserving the right to award by individual items, item classifications, or in total based on what is deemed most advantageous. The contract includes no guaranteed minimum or maximum purchase amounts, and vendors can offer lower pricing during the contract period if possible. While specific budget ranges were not detailed, the comprehensive nature of the 482-item catalog suggests a potentially significant procurement value. The contract includes provisions for data privacy, insurance requirements, and potential federal grant-related conditions. Participating organizations will have the opportunity to standardize procurement and potentially achieve cost savings through this multi-year contract.
