About this opportunity
Western Suffolk BOCES is conducting a competitive bid (Bid #24/25-98CP) for Auto Body Equipment & Supplies, seeking qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive range of automotive repair and body shop materials. The procurement covers 21 specific auto body and repair supply items, including abrasives, air hoses, body fillers, detailing supplies, and automotive repair tools from manufacturers like Sunmight Abrasives, 3M, Kemperle, and Transtar. Bids are due on February 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM, with the contract term running from the date of award through June 30, 2025. The evaluation methodology is weighted, with 80% assigned to hourly rates/material markup and 20% to annual maintenance costs. BOCES will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications, reserving the right to award by individual item, item classification, or in total. Vendors must be certified resellers of the equipment and submit both digital and paper bid responses, with all prices to remain firm for the contract duration.
The contract is structured to allow participation by municipal and not-for-profit organizations authorized under New York State General Municipal Law, specifically in Suffolk County. While the bid is open to a broad range of organizations, vendors retain discretion over contract extensions, providing flexibility in potential ongoing relationships. No specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the documents. The procurement does not list incumbent vendors or specify existing technological infrastructure requirements. While the vendor response spreadsheet shows all unit costs as $0.0000, suggesting pricing will be negotiated separately, the bid enables a standardized purchasing mechanism for auto body and repair supplies across New York state municipal organizations. BOCES has designed this contract to provide maximum accessibility and value for authorized municipal entities, with the potential for annual contract renewals based on performance and vendor agreement.
