About this opportunity

The Texas Department of Transportation is requesting bids on an ATS generator installation at the TxDOT Houston District Headquarters, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, with bids due August 11, 2026 at 3:00 PM Central Time — a five-day procurement window reflecting emergency-purchase classification under Texas Government Code 2155.137.

The scope involves removal of a 4000A Automatic Transfer Switch and installation of a new 2500A ATS, including wiring, auxiliary 480V and 208V panels, transformer, temporary power systems, conduit, junction enclosure, compression splice kits, concrete extension, and coordination time to facilitate redesign of the generator building system. The vendor must provide a minimum 12-month warranty (or the manufacturer's longer standard warranty if applicable), commencing from acceptance into TxDOT inventory. Installation must occur between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday, excluding state and federal holidays, with a minimum seven working days' notice required prior to the proposed installation date.

The estimated contract value is $288,888.88 on a firm, fixed-price, F.O.B. destination basis. All freight charges must be prepaid and included in the unit price; prices must exclude state, local, and federal excise taxes. Email responses are limited to 20 MB (pricing in Excel format). Payment is due within 30 days of receipt of a correct invoice or upon satisfactory completion, whichever is later. TxDOT offers an Early Payment Program for respondents providing cash discounts.

Respondents claiming tied-bid preferences may indicate Texas-produced supplies, USA-manufactured equipment, service-disabled veteran products, environmentally sensitive materials, or energy-efficient products. A Certificate of Insurance for Services (Form 1950) is required prior to award. Execution of Bid and Texas Family Code Schedule 231.006 (child-support certification) must accompany all responses to maintain responsive status. Vendors active on the Centralized Master Bidders List will receive addenda notifications. Late submissions will not be considered.
