About this opportunity

Cobb County School District is seeking a Request for Information (RFI) for high-quality core instructional resources specifically focused on Astronomy for grades 9-12. The RFI aims to identify comprehensive instructional materials, including print, digital, and open educational resources (OER) that align with the Science Georgia Standards of Excellence. Providers are invited to submit detailed resource information for single or multiple grade levels, with each product set to be submitted separately. The procurement process is designed to gather information that may potentially inform a future Request for Proposal (RFP) or district pilot program targeted for implementation during the 2026-2027 academic cycle. The RFI was posted on November 18, 2025, with a submission deadline of December 9, 2025. While the district reserves the right to consider all submitted resources, the evaluation will be based on established district criteria. The primary objective is to identify instructional resources that effectively support astronomy education across high school grade levels.

The RFI does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation. The procurement appears open to various educational resource providers, including curriculum developers, educational publishers, and open-source content creators. While no specific budget range or award value is indicated, the scope suggests a potential district-wide adoption of astronomy instructional materials. The district's approach indicates a strategic assessment of available resources before potentially launching a more formal procurement process. The RFI represents an exploratory phase to understand the market landscape for astronomy instructional resources that can be implemented across Cobb County's high school science curriculum.
