About this opportunity

Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) #BI-CTC-679 for a comprehensive roof recovery project at the Manchester campus, specifically targeting the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and Arts, Sciences and Technology Center (AST). The project scope involves recovering approximately 30,330 square feet of high roof areas, including LRC roofs 6-10 and AST roof 1, with critical requirements to remove and rebuild areas with wet insulation down to the deck. A notable aspect of the project is Bid Alternate No. 1, which includes replacing the skylight on LRC roof 6. The solicitation period is open from October 4, 2024, at 2:30 PM EDT to November 7, 2024, at 4:15 AM EST, with a vendor question and answer period running from October 4 to October 25, 2024. Interested contractors must submit their bids during this timeframe and can direct any questions to Stephen Burke, the project contact. The bid package includes comprehensive documentation, including project manual, drawings, general conditions (A201-2017), and three addenda to support potential bidders in understanding the project requirements.

The solicitation is open to all vendors without specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. Delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be determined by the vendor. No incumbent vendors are mentioned, and the documentation does not specify funding sources or provide an estimated total project value. The project will be located in Hartford County, Connecticut, and requires contractors capable of performing specialized roofing recovery and restoration work. While no specific evaluation criteria are explicitly outlined, the comprehensive documentation suggests a thorough review process will be used to assess bidder qualifications and proposals. The project represents a significant infrastructure maintenance initiative for the CSCU system, focusing on preserving and improving educational facility infrastructure through targeted roof recovery and renovation efforts.
