About this opportunity
The State of Colorado, acting through the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind, is soliciting quotes for assistive technology instruction services via Documented Quote DQ-SPCO-AR-27-02, with quote submissions due August 18, 2026 at 4 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time and written inquiries due August 14, 2026.
The scope requires a Licensed Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) with a minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with visual impairments in assistive technology to provide remote individualized instruction to eligible students. Services encompass instruction in screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), refreshable braille displays, screen magnification software, and other assistive technology devices and applications as identified in students' Individualized Education Programs. All instruction is delivered remotely via Zoom or mutually agreed-upon secure virtual platforms during scheduled times coordinated with the client.
Respondents must submit a current resume, documentation of relevant certifications and credentials, a written description of related experience teaching assistive technology, and a written description of remote instruction planning and delivery capabilities. Pricing is submitted on Attachment A and comprises hourly rates for direct instruction, billable time for quarterly progress report preparation and completion, and billable time for annual IEP-related activities including IEP recommendation development, supporting documentation preparation, and IEP team meeting participation.
The total budget allocation is $75,000. Award will be made to the responsible respondent whose acceptable quote is determined most advantageous to the State, with price being the primary consideration. The State reserves the right to award to multiple offerors and may negotiate with respondents to clarify or modify quotes.
The contract term runs September 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027. Award notification is estimated for August 19, 2026. Respondents must obtain a Good Standing certificate from the Colorado Secretary of State and provide proof of required insurance coverage prior to contract execution.
