About this opportunity
The City of Santa Clara is soliciting bids for as-needed electrical maintenance, repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, testing, and related services for City facilities and City-owned assets, including recurring services at the Santa Clara Convention Center Complex, under RFB 26-27-17 with bids due September 29, 2026. The City intends to make multiple awards to up to three responsible and responsive bidders.
Bidders must hold a current California Class C-10 Electrical Contractor license and must register with the Department of Industrial Relations prior to bid submission. Three customer references demonstrating similar scope and complexity of work are required. Prevailing wage requirements apply under California Labor Code Section 1770 et seq., as the City has determined these services constitute a "Public Work."
The initial contract term is one year, with the City reserving the right to exercise up to four additional one-year renewal options for a total possible term of five years. Award of an agreement does not guarantee any minimum amount of work, expenditure, or equal distribution of work among awarded contractors. Pricing shall be firm fixed for the initial contract term with no price escalation allowed. The City will make payments within thirty days of invoice approval. Bidders should not include California retail sales tax in pricing, as the City is exempt from federal excise tax and will provide exemption certificates as appropriate.
All bids must be submitted online through the BidNet Direct e-Procurement system. Questions are due September 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. PDT. There is no mandatory pre-bid conference. Bidders must include copies of their current C-10 license, a signed Bidder Certification Form, the Bid Pricing Form, and Customer Reference Forms with their submission. Objections to the bid award must be submitted within one week of the bid due date. The procurement contact is Todd Ninokata, Buyer, City of Santa Clara Purchasing Division, at tninokata@santaclaraca.gov.
