About this opportunity
Escambia County Fire Rescue is requesting quotes for bi-annual service and unscheduled repairs on 17 generators ranging from 30 to 150 kilowatts across its fire stations, with quotes due October 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. and questions due October 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
Bi-annual maintenance is scheduled for November and May and covers inspections and maintenance of cooling, fuel, air intake and exhaust, engine monitors and safety controls, lube oil, and starting systems. The scope includes unscheduled repairs and emergency call-outs with response time requirements of three hours for normal emergencies and two hours for hurricane-related emergencies. Vendors must price three line items: bi-annual service cost per cycle, hourly rate for unscheduled service, and hourly rate for emergency call-outs, with all travel fees and associated costs included. Material costs for unscheduled repairs must be priced as a percentage discount off manufacturer's suggested retail price or list cost.
The generator fleet is mixed, with primary generators predominantly Kohler and secondary engines primarily John Deere, supplemented by Cummins, Generac, and Katolight units distributed across 18 active fire stations throughout Escambia County. One station generator is temporarily moved and requires no service.
Vendors must carry commercial general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate, business automobile liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence combined single limits, and Florida statutory workers' compensation with $1,000,000 employers' liability limits. Proof of Sunbiz registration, a completed W-9, and confirmation of pricing validity are required submissions. Electronic submissions through the OpenGov Procurement portal are mandatory. The contract term runs fiscal year 26-27, October 1 through September 30.
