About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is issuing a competitive sealed bid solicitation for the procurement of aluminum materials on a federal basis to establish a two-year contract. The solicitation encompasses various aluminum materials including angles, channels, bars, I-beams, plates, rods, sheets, zee-beams, tubes, and fabricated Z-bars, with delivery required to two primary locations: the Sign Shop in Lake City, Florida and the State Aluminum Structures Shop (SASS) in Oviedo, Florida. All aluminum materials must comply with Build America Buy America (BABA) requirements under 2 CFR 184, with all manufacturing processes occurring in the United States, and must meet specified ASTM standards and alloy requirements. Bids must be submitted as firm, net, delivered prices on an F.O.B. destination basis with delivery required within thirty calendar days or less upon receipt of a purchase order. All bidders must be actively registered in the MyFloridaMarketplace system by the bid opening date, March 16, 2026 at 9:00 AM EST, with public bid opening scheduled for 10:00 AM the same day at the FDOT Central Procurement Office in Tallahassee. Technical questions must be submitted in writing by March 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM, and the intended award decision will be posted on March 17, 2026. The resulting contract will be effective upon approval and will expire two years from that date, with an option for mutual renewal for up to three years or the term of the original contract, whichever is longer, subject to satisfactory performance evaluations and availability of funds.
No in-state preference applies to this procurement due to federal funding, and no set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are mentioned in the solicitation materials. All bidders must submit a Vendor Certification Regarding Scrutinized Companies Lists regardless of contract value, and out-of-state corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships must be authorized to do business in the State of Florida. The Department reserves the right to award by individual item, group of items, all items, or none, or make awards on a geographical or statewide basis with one or more suppliers. A 1% MyFloridaMarketplace transaction fee will be deducted from all payments to vendors. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the available solicitation documents; however, estimated quantities for each item on the bid sheets are specified to guide bidder pricing. All prospective bidders must register in the MyFloridaMarketplace system at https://vendor.myfloridamarketplace.com/ or by calling 1-866-352-3776 for assisted registration prior to the bid opening deadline.
