About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on aluminium bridge components and hardware, with bids due January 20, 2010. An in-state preference applies to bidders offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine in case of tie bids.
Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item on prescribed forms or through electronic means. Sealed bids or electronic responses must reach the Division of Purchases office in Augusta, Maine by the closing deadline; bids received after the deadline will not be considered. Pricing must exclude Federal and Maine State Sales and Use taxes. All transportation charges, freight, and delivery expenses must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in bid evaluation; discounts under 20 days will not factor into award decisions.
The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, and award contracts to the lowest responsible bidder considering best value factors including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost to the State. The State also reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent unless otherwise stated. All deliveries must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, and contractors must furnish materials exactly as specified with no deviations permitted. The contractor bears liability for defaults but is not liable for delays arising from strikes, fires, acts of God, or other causes beyond reasonable control.
