About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids on aluminium bridge components and hardware, with bids due November 12, 2009. A preference for in-state bidders or Maine-manufactured commodities applies in tie-bid resolution.

Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item, with all transportation charges prepaid unless otherwise specified. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes, which must be excluded from bids. Bids are evaluated on lowest-responsible-bidder basis considering best value to the State, with factors including quality, conformance to specifications, delivery dates, and ultimate cost. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities and technicalities, and adjust quantities by up to 10 percent unless otherwise stated.

Bids must be submitted electronically to the Division of Purchases, Room 119, 9 State House Station, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine by the closing date and time. Late bids will not be considered. Bid tabulations will be available for public inspection following contract award. Contractors are prohibited from assigning, subletting, or transferring contracts without written consent from the Director and must comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law requiring material safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals. Amendments may only be withdrawn by written notice prior to contract award.
