About this opportunity

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is soliciting bids for a comprehensive Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) hardware and software support contract through a competitive Request for Bid (RFB) process. The procurement specifically seeks unlimited remote technical support via phone, email, and electronic channels, along with onsite maintenance for Genetec Solutions AutoVu ALPR systems within the Transportation Services Department. Bidders must provide technical support services and have the potential to supply new hardware and software as needed. The solicitation (2025-UWMIL-00930-RFB) requires all responses to be submitted online through the https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent platform, with a bid submission deadline of March 21, 2025. An optional site visit is available, and potential bidders are encouraged to review the front cover sheet of the bid document for critical deadlines. Questions can be submitted through the procurement tool or via email to uwmbids@uwm.edu. Technical support for bid submission is available through Jaggaer Supplier Support at 1-800-233-1121 Option 2, with a guaranteed 24-hour response time.

While no specific set-aside designations or vendor restrictions were explicitly stated in the document, the procurement appears open to qualified technical support providers specializing in ALPR hardware and software maintenance. The current infrastructure involves Genetec Solutions AutoVu ALPR systems, suggesting potential bidders must demonstrate compatibility and expertise with this specific technology. Although no precise budget range was provided, the contract includes provisions for both ongoing support services and potential future hardware/software purchases. The procurement covers jurisdictions in Milwaukee County and potentially extends to Mattoon Village, indicating a broader regional scope. Bidders should be prepared to demonstrate comprehensive technical capabilities, remote and onsite support methodologies, and a proven track record of maintaining advanced license plate recognition technologies. Interested vendors are strongly advised to submit bids early and anticipate potential account setup or technical integration challenges during the bidding process.
