About this opportunity
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is pursuing a single-source procurement from Airgas USA, LLC for noble gases to support laboratory operations across three departmental divisions: Agricultural Environmental Services, Consumer Services, and Food Safety. This procurement is specifically for high-quality gases classified under UNSPSC code 12142000, intended for sample preparation, analytical instrument operation, and regulatory program testing. The procurement is structured as a one-year term contract, with a posted date of June 4, 2025, and a final date for receiving alternative vendor information of June 25, 2025. The department requires vendors capable of providing consistent gas delivery with minimal operational disruption across Florida laboratories. Interested parties must submit relevant information demonstrating their capability to provide comparable commodities or services by the June 25, 2025 deadline, after which the department will evaluate potential alternative sources before finalizing the single-source procurement.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational respondents were explicitly outlined in the documentation. The procurement is limited to Leon County and statewide Florida operations, with an estimated total procurement amount up to $235,000 and an approximate contract value of $185,000. Airgas USA, LLC is being considered the sole source vendor due to their regional presence, delivery capabilities, and critical support of departmental regulatory programs. The procurement has received approvals from multiple high-level departmental directors and managers, indicating organizational consensus on the single-source approach. The contract appears focused on supporting laboratory operations with specialized noble gases, with Airgas being selected based on their demonstrated ability to meet the department's precise technical and logistical requirements across multiple operational divisions.
