About this opportunity

Lenoir Community College is seeking vendors to supply specialized Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) training equipment through Invitation for Bid (IFB) #105-2024A&P, with the primary objective of meeting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification requirements for their new instructional program. The procurement encompasses a comprehensive suite of training equipment, including oxygen system trainers, cabin pressurization trainers, fluid lines and fittings trainers, electrical power carts, anti-skid braking system trainers, air cycle air conditioning system trainers, anti-ice system trainers, fire detection system trainers, turbine engine run-up carts, multiple turbine and piston engine tear-down trainers, and propeller trainers. Vendors must be authorized manufacturers, dealers, resellers, or distributors of the proposed equipment and provide a minimum 12-month warranty. Bids are due December 12, 2024, at 3:00 PM ET, with an anticipated contract award date of December 18, 2024. All equipment must be delivered FOB Destination to the Lenoir Community College Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Center in Kinston, NC within 90 calendar days after purchase order receipt.

The procurement encourages participation from Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs), with a stated goal of 10% utilization of diverse firms as first or second tier subcontractors. Vendors must be registered in North Carolina's Electronic Vendor Portal (eVP) system to be eligible for contract award. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly detailed, the comprehensive nature of the equipment procurement suggests a significant investment in establishing the A&P instructional program's training infrastructure. The contract appears to be open to a wide range of vendors who can meet the technical specifications and manufacturing authorization requirements. The procurement's focus on specialized aviation training equipment indicates a strategic investment by Lenoir Community College in developing a robust aerospace educational program that meets stringent FAA standards and prepares students for careers in aircraft maintenance and technology.
