About this opportunity
The Long Beach Public Utilities Department is requesting quotations for preventive maintenance, parts, and as-needed repair services for 16 existing air compressors located at four LBPUD facilities throughout Long Beach, with quotations due October 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. via the Long Beach Buys electronic portal. Bidders must hold State of California licensing and certification for air compressor maintenance and repair, with proof of licensing and insurance required before contract issuance. A local-vendor preference of up to 10% bid price reduction applies to qualified Long Beach-based businesses for evaluation purposes only.
The air compressors are manufactured by CP, Quincy, Ingersoll Rand, Kaeser, Atlas Copco Airpower, Travani Pumps, PVR Vacuum Pumps, and FIAC, located at the Groundwater Treatment Plant, Division Street facility, Convention Center parking garage, and Gas Facility. The contractor shall provide all materials, tools, parts, equipment, and labor. Preventive maintenance must be performed semi-annually during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.), with a schedule provided upon award. Potential repair work includes filters, air/oil separators, belts, lubricants, check valves, pressure relief valves, gauges, bearings, dryers, plumbing, and automatic drain valves. All repair work requires LBPUD approval before commencement, with response times of 24 hours for standard repairs and four hours for emergency repairs.
Pricing shall be unit-based across six line items: hourly rates for preventive maintenance, service/repair calls at LBPUD sites, emergency service/repair calls within 24 hours, service/repair calls at contractor sites, pickup/delivery charges per instance, and a percentage discount on parts. Unit prices and percentage discounts must remain firm for the one-year contract term; any price increases or discount decreases subject the contract to cancellation at LBPUD's discretion. Sales tax shall not be included in unit prices; all transportation costs and insurance are the contractor's responsibility. The contract term is one year with optional extensions for two additional one-year periods by mutual agreement.
Questions are due October 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with answers posted by October 16, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. LBPUD does not guarantee usage of all services and reserves the right to reject all quotes.
