About this opportunity
The City of Edgerton is seeking sealed bid proposals for a Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) aeration blower and air piping replacement project. The procurement involves removing the existing aeration blower No. 1 and installing a new Aerzen hybrid blower, along with approximately 120 linear feet of 10" 304 stainless steel Schedule 10 above-grade air piping. Key deliverables include complete equipment removal, installation of the new blower and associated equipment, widening of the concrete pad, and coordination with city contractors for electrical and control system upgrades. The project requires a comprehensive approach to equipment replacement with specific technical requirements, including start-up operations with Aerzen representatives and electrical/control experts. Sealed bid proposals are due by 4:00 P.M. on August 7, 2025, and must be submitted to Cedar Corporation in Madison, Wisconsin. Bidders must include a certified check or bid bond equal to 5% of the proposal amount, and proposals will remain valid for 30 days after opening.
The contract does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises. Bidders will be required to demonstrate technical capability to install specialized wastewater treatment equipment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. The city has already procured the Aerzen blower equipment, which is expected to be delivered by October 31, 2025, with project completion required no later than December 19, 2025. While specific budget ranges are not detailed in the documentation, bidders must provide a lump sum cost proposal and identify potential hourly rates for additional work. The project involves replacing one of three existing blowers at the facility, each originally rated at 700 SCFM at 11 psig and 60 HP. The city reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, indicating flexibility in the procurement process. Contractors should be prepared to minimize disruptions to ongoing wastewater treatment facility operations during the equipment replacement.

- Following the installation of the new Aerzen aeration blower and associated equipment, the City/Other Contractors will complete the electrical/instrumentation/control upgrades for the project to attain operational level for the new equipment. Start-up operation of the new equipment is to be completed onsite with Aerzen representatives, electrical/control representatives and the CONTRACTOR representatives. Any adjustments/corrections/modifications are to be completed by the CONTRACTOR at this time. It is expected that this work is to be completed no later than December 19, 2025.
