About this opportunity
The California Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a contractor for the Accessible Dishwashing Station Project across multiple state parks, including Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Portola Redwoods State Park, and Butano State Park in Santa Cruz County. The procurement involves furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to install twenty-two new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant dishwashing stations and extend existing walkways to meet ADA requirements. Mandatory requirements include a job walk-through held on March 29, 2016, at the Big Basin Redwoods State Park Ranger Station, with attendance being critical for bid eligibility. Bid solicitation questions were accepted until 12:00 PM on April 4, 2016, with questions directed to Rachel Arias via email. The project requires contractors to complete all work within 280 calendar days from the written notice to commence work, with ten calendar days allowed for the contractor to begin work. Technical specifications detailed in Addendum #1 provide extensive guidance on construction plans, electrical requirements, concrete specifications, carpentry, plumbing installations, and painting requirements.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types were explicitly mentioned in the available documentation. The project does not indicate preferences for disadvantaged enterprises or specific vendor categories. No incumbent vendors or current contractors were identified in the provided materials. The procurement appears to be a comprehensive construction project with technical complexity, requiring contractors with expertise in ADA-compliant infrastructure, park facility construction, and multi-site project management. While no specific budget range was explicitly stated, the extensive technical specifications and multi-park scope suggest a significant capital investment. The project involves precise technical requirements, including specific materials specifications for PVC piping, electrical conduit, roofing materials, and paint finishes, indicating a need for highly qualified and technically proficient contractors with experience in park infrastructure and accessibility improvements.
