About this opportunity
The Technical College System of Georgia is establishing a statewide blanket professional liability insurance contract for students enrolled across 22 technical colleges, with the eRFQ closed on June 28, 2023 and a Notice of Intent to Award issued August 6, 2023. Associate Member Benefit Advisors, LLC was selected as the apparent successful offeror at a fixed rate of $12.00 per Class I student and $52.80 per Class II student.
The contract covers approximately 18,750 students, inclusive of both Class I and Class II categories, enrolled in Allied Health Specialty Curriculums and other programs. Coverage extends to internships, clinical practice, clinical experiences, and externships conducted at hospitals, businesses, agencies, and companies, as well as internal hands-on programs. Most medical and pharmacy category programs require internship completion before graduation; students typically complete a specified number of work hours aligned with semester length. Each of the 22 technical colleges will be invoiced individually based on its student enrollment counts and coverage requirements.
TCSG's administrative review confirmed that Associate Member Benefit Advisors, LLC's proposal met all bid specifications and that pricing was fair and reasonable. The offeror maintained valid status on both the federal SAMS and Georgia SDS websites. Only one bid response was received. Issuing officer Toyia M. Hunter completed the award recommendation on August 6, 2023. Interested parties may submit protests electronically to doas.protests@doas.ga.gov in accordance with the Georgia Procurement Manual guidelines.
Opportunity text
Pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated §§50-5-50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) is being issued to establish a contract with one or more qualified suppliers who will provide Student Blanket Professional Liability Insurance to the Technical College System of Georgia (hereinafter, the State Entity) as further described in this eRFQ. Technical College System of Georgia is seeking bids to establish an open agency contract to provide Student Blanket Professional Liability Insurance for students enrolled at 22 Technical Colleges throughout the State of Georgia. Insured students are enrolled in, but not limited to Allied Health Specialty Curriculums. The estimated statewide participation is $18,750 students inclusive of both Class I and Class II categories. Internships, clinical practice, clinical experiences and externships are inclusive with many programs at the technical colleges. Clinicals, internships and Live Works programs allow for hands-on experiences outside and external to the campuses through hospitals, businesses, agencies and companies. Additionally, internships are required for other programs to gain hands-on experiences which are provided on and internal to the campuses. Most all of the medical and pharmacy categories have potential internships and most require the internship to be completed before the students can graduate. Typically the students have to perform a certain number of work hours that typically coincide with the length of the semester. Technical Colleges will individually provide counts and information for required student coverage. Colleges must be invoiced individually as well. Please see attached listing Enrollment by Select Programs If technical assistance is needed to register your company in the Team Georgia Marketplace System or to access this bid event, please contact the procurement helpdesk by phone at 404.657.6000 option 2 or by email at procurementhelp@doas.ga.g
