About this opportunity

The Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles is soliciting bids for pest control services at its Sheffield Field Office (9,216 square feet) in Sheffield, Alabama, with bids due September 28, 2026 and a mandatory site visit on September 23 at 9:30 a.m. — attendance and sign-in are required, and failure to attend results in automatic bid rejection.

The scope covers monthly pest control services commencing October 1, 2026, with service windows between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Services include control of roaches, silverfish, ants, wasps, rats, mice, fleas, ticks, spiders, and other pests; bidders must clearly identify any excluded pests. The awarded supplier must conduct a comprehensive facility inspection during the first service visit, provide written service reports within 48 hours of each service, respond to pest-control complaints at no additional cost between scheduled services, and furnish all necessary chemicals, equipment, and materials. Emergency pest-control services must be provided upon request for significant pest activity or health and safety concerns. The supplier must hold an active Alabama pesticide applicator license and provide proof of liability insurance prior to service commencement. No subcontracting is permitted; the awarded supplier remains fully responsible for all performance and compliance.

The maximum contract value is $25,000 over a cumulative period not exceeding five years, with the actual contract term and pricing determined at award based on awarded pricing and anticipated usage. The Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles will consider its budget constraints when processing awards to remain within allocated funding. Monthly invoices are submitted in arrears with Net 30 payment terms contingent upon satisfactory performance. Suppliers must be registered in Alabama Buys and submit responses electronically through that platform. E-Verify compliance and Alabama Secretary of State registration (if a foreign corporation) are required. Price escalations during contract performance may be considered if justified, not to exceed 5 percent of annual contract cost.
