About this opportunity
The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is soliciting bids through an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for statewide ergonomic evaluation services to be provided across Northern, Central, and Southern California regions. The procurement seeks qualified contractors to deliver comprehensive ergonomic evaluations that include on-site and virtual assessments of employee workstations, detailed reporting, and employee training on injury prevention and ergonomic techniques. Bidders must hold a Certified Associate Ergonomist (CAE) certification or higher and demonstrate a minimum of three years of practical experience conducting ergonomic evaluations in office and warehouse environments, with demonstrated capacity to provide statewide coverage. Contractors must respond to evaluation requests within 24 hours and schedule evaluations within seven business days. The contract period extends from March 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with an option for one additional 12-month renewal term. Questions must be submitted by February 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM PST, with responses posted by February 19, 2026. Bids are due February 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM PST, with bid opening on February 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM PST. Award will be based on the lowest responsive responsible bid.
Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including general liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate), workers' compensation, automobile liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit), and professional liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence/$3,000,000 aggregate). Small Business Enterprise (SBE) preferences of 5 percent (not to exceed $50,000) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) incentive programs apply, with DVBE participation requirements waived but incentives ranging from 1 to 5 percent available based on confirmed participation levels. No subcontracting is allowable under this agreement, and the contractor must provide all equipment, software, and travel logistics with travel and per diem costs included in the proposed cost sheet. Payment will be made for actual services rendered upon acceptance by the Cal OES Contract Manager, with invoices submitted after service completion. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the solicitation documents.
