About this opportunity
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is seeking corrosion engineering services through a competitive procurement process for its Engineering and Environmental Services Division. The contract, identified as solicitation 44464, will provide comprehensive engineering support across multiple service areas including corrosion control system evaluations, system upgrades, test station repairs, technical reviews, specification development, and construction phase services. Required deliverables encompass engineering manuals, standard details, technical evaluations, permit applications, and emergency on-call support. The procurement is specifically targeting consulting firms capable of providing staff augmentation and technical expertise in corrosion engineering. The contract opportunity was posted on February 16, 2023, with proposals due by March 23, 2023, representing a three-year baseline contract with potential for a two-year extension. The total contract upset limit is set at $4,000,000.00 for the base term, with pricing expected to remain firm throughout the contract period.
While no specific set-aside designations or disadvantaged enterprise requirements are explicitly mentioned in the solicitation, the procurement appears open to qualified consulting firms with demonstrated expertise in corrosion engineering. The WSSC intends to select multiple consulting firms through a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), which suggests a competitive selection process based on technical capabilities and proposed approach. The contract will support Prince George's County infrastructure needs, specifically focusing on engineering services for water and sanitary systems. Potential respondents should have robust technical capabilities in corrosion control, system evaluation, and engineering support services. The multi-vendor approach indicates the WSSC seeks to establish a pool of qualified contractors who can provide flexible, as-needed engineering support across various project scopes and complexities.
