About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is soliciting bids for four new Quantum Scalar i2000/i6000 tape drives and one 100-slot license key for Central Maine Community College, with bids due October 5, 2011.
The procurement is an upgrade to the existing Quantum Scalar i2000 tape library system currently operating with 2 modules containing 400 slots, 12 IBM LTO3 drives, and 4 HP LTO4 drives. The scope includes four Quantum Scalar i2000/i6000 4Gb IBM LTO-4 tape drive modules; one 100-slot license key; installation and configuration services; and two years of Gold Support Plan coverage with an additional five-month service extension to align with the current Gold Level service plan expiration on February 14, 2014. The upgrade configuration includes provisions for 4Gb Fibre Channel I/O blade inclusion when required and compatibility with Scalar Key Manager.
All installation and maintenance activities must be performed by Quantum Corporation, the incumbent vendor maintaining the existing i2000 unit and responsible for integration of new drives. This single-source requirement effectively restricts competition to the incumbent.
Shipping charges may apply. The terms and conditions document reserves the Division's authority to reject defective articles, terminate for non-performance, modify contract scope in writing, and recover excess costs from contractors. Contractors must comply with applicable federal and state laws and environmental regulations, maintain defect remedies within one year of final acceptance, and retain records for three years following final payment.
