About this opportunity
The County of San Mateo Parks Department is requesting proposals for three 20-foot shipping containers under Informal RFP 2026-RFP-Informal-00582, with proposals due July 2, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. A local business preference ordinance applies: 5% preference for local businesses or non-profits located in San Mateo County, an additional 3% for small businesses or non-profits, and an additional 5% for micro businesses or micro non-profits. The vendor must be located within San Mateo County with products available for on-site inspection.
The scope consists of two standard single-door containers for delivery to San Bruno Mountain Park in Brisbane and one double-door container for delivery to Junipero Serra Park in San Bruno. All containers must be one-trip new condition in brown, army/loden green, or tan. The vendor is responsible for all freight, offloading, and placement at designated park locations using three separate 20-foot trailer trips. Pricing must include container costs, additional charges for the double-door configuration, all freight and delivery costs, offloading and placement, and applicable sales taxes (9.375% for San Bruno Mountain Park; 9.875% for Junipero Serra Park). The contract term is one year.
Evaluation weighting is project approach and minimum qualifications (22%), firm qualifications (38%), price (30%), and preferential points for local entities (10%). The vendor must have provided similar services for a minimum of four years within the last seven years and must not be excluded, suspended, or debarred from the System for Award Management. Questions and contract exceptions are due June 25, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. No pre-proposal conference or site visit is scheduled.
