About this opportunity

The City of Augusta, Georgia is requesting bids on rock in various sizes for the Engineering and Environmental Services Department under ITB 27-016, with sealed bids due September 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. An M/WBE utilization reporting requirement applies to all bids regardless of dollar amount, and a local-bidders preference applies to projects valued at $100,000 or less, permitting eligible local bidders to match the lowest non-local bid if within ten percent or $10,000 of that bid.

The scope covers ten line items of aggregate materials: coarse aggregate sizes No. 4, 5, 7, 57, and 89; graded aggregate (Crusher Run); and stone rip rap types I, II, and III, plus surge stone. Pricing shall be quoted F.O.B. origin at the quarry on a per-ton basis for pickup by Augusta or its authorized carriers; the successful bidder is responsible for loading, and Augusta assumes all transportation costs. The contract is structured as an annual initial term with four one-year renewal options. Prices must remain fixed and firm throughout the contract term; price escalation requests are limited to three percent annually and require sixty days' notice prior to renewal dates. No materials may be delivered before January 2, 2027.

Award will be made to the lowest responsive bid meeting specifications. Questions and requests for clarification are due by 5:00 p.m. on August 26, 2026, submitted in writing to procannualbids@augustaga.gov. Sealed bids will be opened publicly both in-person at the Procurement Department (535 Telfair Street, Suite 605, Augusta, GA 30901) and virtually via Microsoft Teams. Bidders must submit Exhibit A documentation including business license, W-9, E-Verify affidavit, SAVE program affidavit, and various compliance statements; failure to provide required documentation results in non-responsive bids.
