About this opportunity

Floyd County Board of Commissioners, through its Purchasing Department, is soliciting sealed bids for turf maintenance services for Rome/Floyd Parks & Recreation fields and common areas under Bid 26-038. A mandatory pre-bid and site visit is November 3, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Riverview Park, and bids are due November 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. No set-aside or preference program is stated.

The scope covers approximately 76 acres across nine parks and two county facilities, including Alto Park, Riverview Park, and the Parks Division Headquarters. The contractor must perform a minimum of six annual applications of pre-emergent, weed control, and fertilizer formulated for Bermuda turf, plus spot treatments for escape weeds such as Poa, Goose, and Nut Sedges. All products must be people and pet friendly. Successful bidders must hold a Georgia Department of Agriculture Pesticide Contractor License and a Commercial Applicator License (Category 24), with at least one full-time certified applicator. The County performs mowing and watering. Contractors must take their own site measurements, and change orders will not be accepted.

The contract is awarded on a lump-sum basis to the responsible bidder whose bid is most advantageous to the County, considering price and other factors. Bidders submit a total price, a price per acre, and a monthly price for a 12-month term on a separate pricing sheet through the Bonfire platform, and all compliance forms, including proof of E-Verify or S.A.V.E. authorization, must also be submitted there. Minimum liability coverage is $100,000 per occurrence. The initial term is one year, with automatic annual renewal for up to four additional years, for a potential total of five years. Either party may terminate with 30 days' notice. Service years run January 1 through December 31. Floyd County pays on Net 30 terms and requires no bonds. Bids may not be withdrawn for 90 days after opening.

Questions are due in writing by November 10, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. local time, and addenda will be issued by November 12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. local time.
