About this opportunity

Chatham County Purchasing & Contracting is soliciting proposals for on-call electrician services for Chatham County Parks & Recreation under RFP 26-0134-2, with proposals due by 5:00 p.m. on November 20, 2026. No set-aside or eligibility restriction applies. Local MBE/WBE Participation is an evaluation category worth 15 of 100 points, not a participation requirement.

The work covers labor, parts, and equipment for electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, lighting, electrical panels, wiring, and outlets at various Parks and Recreation locations countywide. Individual projects are capped at $25,000, and the County reserves the right to solicit larger jobs separately. Emergency response must arrive within one hour at Memorial Stadium and within one and one-half hours at all other facilities. Non-emergency calls must be scheduled within 48 hours. Contractors must carry commercial general liability insurance of $1,000,000, workers' compensation of $500,000, and business automobile liability of $1,000,000, and must obtain a Chatham County business license before award.

The contract runs one year with four optional one-year renewals, with a not-to-exceed amount of $100,000 per year per contract. The County gives no guarantee of work volume and anticipates awarding a primary contractor and potentially a secondary contractor for emergencies or capacity management. Pricing is hourly labor rates for electricians and helpers in both regular hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding County holidays) and emergency periods (weekends, holidays, and outside regular hours), plus a percentage markup on materials, parts, and specialty equipment. Travel time and mileage are not reimbursed and must be built into hourly rates. Billing uses a one-hour minimum increment, and supplier invoices must substantiate material costs.

Proposals are scored on a 100-point scale: Experience & Qualifications (30), Project Approach, Methodology & Equipment (30), Local MBE/WBE Participation (15), Pricing Proposal (15), and References (10). Potential interviews carry an additional 30 points. All questions must go to Ms. Sabrina Tippett, Assistant Purchasing Director, at stippett@chathamcounty.org. Proposers may not contact County departments directly.
