About this opportunity
Chatham County is soliciting bids for preventative maintenance and emergency services for uninterruptible power supply systems, battery systems, external battery cabinets, and maintenance bypass equipment supporting critical communications infrastructure at three radio tower locations, with bids due June 19, 2026 under ITB 26-0065-2. A minimum M/WBE participation goal of 30% combined applies, requiring documented good faith efforts in subcontracting with certified minority and women-owned businesses.
The scope encompasses 24/7 emergency telephone support with four-hour onsite response for after-hours emergencies, semi-annual preventative maintenance for UPS, battery, and bypass systems, and written service reports following all maintenance and emergency visits. Equipment at the three sites — Pooler Tower (Pooler, Georgia), Sheriff's Office/Master Tower with two UPS units (Savannah, Georgia), and Tybee Island Tower (Tybee Island, Georgia) — consists of Liebert or Vertiv UPS systems. Bidders must demonstrate experience servicing comparable UPS, battery, and bypass systems; provide references validating 24/7 emergency response capabilities for critical infrastructure; ensure field technicians hold appropriate training and experience; and disclose any subcontracted work.
The contract term is one year with the option to renew for four additional one-year terms if both parties agree. Pricing must include all labor, parts, travel, and emergency service charges, clearly itemized by category. Contractors must maintain current Certificates of Insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 General Liability, $500,000 Workers' Compensation, and $1,000,000 Business Automobile Liability. Sealed bids are submitted online through the Chatham County Purchasing Portal by 2:00 PM on June 19, 2026. No pre-bid conference is scheduled. Inquiries must be directed to Ms. Sabrina Tippett, Assistant Purchasing Director, through the Purchasing portal only; vendors are not to contact any County department directly.
