About this opportunity
Glynn County Board of Commissioners is soliciting bids for the St. Simons Shoreline Revetment Rehabilitation Phase II (Johnson Rocks) project, a specialized marine civil engineering procurement. The work requires contractors to furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to rehabilitate the oceanfront revetment structure located on St. Simons Island. The scope of work includes select rock temporary removal and/or grading, followed by placement of new armor stone to meet specified grades and slopes as depicted in the contract drawings. All work shall be performed from the beach (waterward) side of the existing revetment unless otherwise indicated on the contract documents. The project has an estimated maximum quantity of materials and specified stone sizes to be determined by contract drawings. Interested vendors must submit bids electronically through Glynn County's e-Procurement Portal operated by OpenGov at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/glynncounty. The bid submission deadline is October 8, 2025, with the solicitation having been posted on September 3, 2025. Prospective bidders should register on the OpenGov platform to receive notifications of amendments, addenda, and to submit clarifying questions during the bidding period.
The procurement documents do not specify set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise restrictions, or preferences for particular vendor classifications based on the available information. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation materials. The contract will require integration with existing revetment infrastructure and adherence to design specifications shown on the contract drawings provided by the county. No specific contract award value or budget range is disclosed in the publicly available solicitation documents. Qualified contractors should demonstrate expertise in marine construction, revetment rehabilitation, and armor stone placement to be competitive for this project. Vendors are encouraged to contact Glynn County through the OpenGov platform for technical specifications, drawings, and any additional procurement requirements prior to the October 8, 2025 deadline.
