About this opportunity
Fulton County, Georgia is seeking bids for a contract to procure Colilert Reagent 24 and Colilert Reagent 18 supplies through an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Department of Public Works and Department of Purchasing & Contract Compliance. The procurement is for EPA-approved water testing reagents used to detect total coliforms and E. coli in water and wastewater samples, which are critical for maintaining compliance with drinking water and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements. Specific quantities include 28 cases of 120 Ml vessels with Sodium Thiosulfate, 30 cases of Colilert Reagent 18 Hr., and 2 cases of Colilert Reagent 24 Hr. The electronic bid submission is scheduled for August 26, 2025, at 11:00 A.M., with an initial contract term from the date of execution in 2026 through December 31, 2026. The County has the option to renew the contract for two additional one-year terms, subject to Board of Commissioners approval. Failure to conduct required testing could result in fines from Georgia's Environmental Protection Division or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The solicitation does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types. The County requires these specific Colilert reagents due to their compatibility with existing County-owned laboratory equipment and compliance with Standard Method 9223 for water sample analysis. While no incumbent vendors are listed, the procurement emphasizes the need for reagents that can seamlessly integrate with current laboratory infrastructure. The bid documents do not provide a specific budget range or total contract value, but the procurement is structured as an indefinite quantity, firm fixed price contract. The detailed specifications suggest that vendors must have the capability to supply precise laboratory testing supplies that meet EPA approval and can be used for comprehensive water quality monitoring. Potential bidders should carefully review the technical requirements to ensure their products meet the County's specific needs for water sample analysis and regulatory compliance.
