About this opportunity

The state of Ohio is seeking a procurement for Palo Alto Firewall Software License Renewal, specifically for the RICS (Research and Information Compliance System) system. The contract opportunity, identified by ID 67a63f6fece27b41ea0949cc, was posted on February 7, 2025, with proposals due by February 13, 2025. The primary objective is to replace the current Azure Firewall, which has limited functionality, with a more robust Palo Alto Firewall solution. The key deliverable is a software licensing arrangement that will provide a single inbound address to facilitate integration with the state's enterprise document management system. The current vendor, JMT, has identified that the Azure Firewall does not support the required technical specifications, necessitating this procurement. The primary evaluation criteria appear to center on the technical capabilities of the firewall system, specifically its ability to provide comprehensive network security and seamless integration with existing state infrastructure.

The contract opportunity does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations. The current incumbent vendor is JMT, who is using the Azure Firewall that is being replaced. The existing infrastructure involves the RICS system and the state's enterprise document management system, which will require careful integration with the new Palo Alto Firewall solution. While no specific budget range is provided in the documentation, the procurement is focused on software licensing for a critical network security component. The technical requirements suggest that respondents must have expertise in enterprise-level firewall systems, specifically Palo Alto network security solutions, and demonstrate the ability to implement a firewall that provides enhanced inbound address management and integration capabilities.
