About this opportunity
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a certified small business to provide comprehensive property sweeping and pressure washing services for the San Bernardino DMV Field Office. The procurement is a 36-month contract beginning January 1, 2026, with specific service requirements including property sweeping five times per week on all paved surfaces accessible to motor vehicles (parking lots, driveways, skills test areas, and gated vehicle enclosure areas), pressure washing of paved surfaces five times per week, and monthly pressure washing of building and waste enclosure areas. Key deliverables include utilizing truck-mounted equipment exclusively, maintaining detailed documentation of services performed, and adhering to noise abatement laws and performance standards. The solicitation follows a structured schedule with written questions due by August 14, 2025, responses released by August 18, 2025, and final bid submissions required by August 22, 2025 at 11:59 PM. Bidders must demonstrate compliance with comprehensive service requirements outlined in the bid documentation, including specific cleaning protocols and operational guidelines.
The procurement is exclusively reserved for certified small businesses, specifically those certified by the California Department of General Services' Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Enterprise Services. The current contractor, GI Services LLC, has been performing these services under an existing contract valued at $176,040.00, with monthly costs broken down as $495.00 for sweeping, $4,100.00 for paved surface pressure washing, and $295.00 for general pressure washing. The new contract will maintain similar cost structures and service expectations, with a total anticipated contract value aligned with the previous agreement. Bidders must meet strict qualification criteria, including equipment specifications that mandate truck-mounted (not trailer-mounted) equipment and compliance with state procurement regulations. Additional considerations include provisions related to economic sanctions and generative artificial intelligence usage, which will be evaluated as part of the overall bid assessment.
