About this opportunity
The Floyd County Board of Commissioners is seeking sealed bids from qualified concrete contractors for the Brushy Branch Boat Ramp Renovation (BID #26-024), a re-bid due to clarifications in original specifications, with bids due July 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. via the Bonfire platform. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is scheduled for July 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Brushy Branch Park, 7354 Blacks Bluff Road SW, Cave Spring, Georgia; failure to attend results in bid rejection.
The scope includes inspection and site preparation, repair of existing concrete damage, squaring and aligning the existing ramp pad, extending the ramp approximately five feet into the water, adding a concrete curb three feet from the ramp end, and site restoration at Montgomery Landing in Rome, Georgia.
Bidders must submit a lump-sum bid price comprehensive of all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and other items necessary to complete the work. Time is a stated evaluation factor; contractors must provide estimated start and completion dates. The contract is binding upon award notification. Contractors are responsible for obtaining all required permits and licenses and for compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Work must commence within stated calendar days after receiving a Notice to Proceed and continue in a routine, orderly manner until completion and County acceptance.
Documentation required at bid submission includes Bidders Declaration, Vendor Information form, Certificate of Non-Discrimination, Certificate of Non-Collusion, Contractor's Affidavit under O.C.G.A. 13-10-91(b)(1), S.A.V.E. Compliance Affidavit or E-Verify documentation, Drug-Free Workplace Certificate, W-9 form, and a 5% bid bond. Upon award, the successful bidder must furnish a Certificate of Liability Insurance with not less than $500,000 per occurrence within 10 days and execute the contract within 10 days of Notice of Award, along with required performance bonds. Payment is made upon monthly completion or upon completion of all work and acceptance by the County within 30 days of invoice receipt. The County reserves the right to delay award for up to 60 days and reject any or all bids. Questions are due by 5:00 p.m. on July 23, 2026, with responses provided by addenda. Contact Randy E. Self, Purchasing Director, at randy.self@floydcountyga.org or (706) 291-5118.
