About this opportunity
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is soliciting bids for telecommunications network cabling, related electrical services, and hardware installation services for Northern California DMV offices (Area 1) through Invitation for Bid (IFB) 24-327. The procurement covers comprehensive installation services including data cables, speaker cables, coaxial cables, electrical circuits, TV/monitor mounting hardware, and CCTV system equipment across various DMV facilities. Bidders must possess a valid C-10 contractor license issued by the California Contractors State License Board and be prepared to execute a 36-month contract beginning May 1, 2025, or upon contract approval. Critical procurement dates include February 6, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. for submitting questions, February 13, 2025, for published answers, and February 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. as the bid submission deadline. The estimated project cost is $244,127.00, with bids required to be submitted via email to DMVBIDS@dmv.ca.gov, and bidders must provide detailed unit pricing for 82 different line items covering various cable installations and electrical work.
The procurement includes specific requirements for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation, mandating a 3% DVBE involvement for bids exceeding $10,000. Bidders must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) if the bid value surpasses $25,000 and will be required to provide a payment bond equal to 100% of the contract value for bids over $25,000. Prevailing wage requirements apply to contracts exceeding $1,000, and the DMV does not guarantee minimum or maximum usage under the contract. The solicitation is open to contractors capable of meeting the technical specifications and licensing requirements, with pricing to be submitted as unit costs with extended totals based on estimated quantities provided in the bid schedule. While no incumbent vendor is specifically mentioned, the contract represents an opportunity for qualified telecommunications and electrical service providers to support DMV infrastructure improvements in Northern California.
