About this opportunity
The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC), Northwest Region, is seeking a contractor to perform a pre-emergent spray treatment of Japanese Stiltgrass on 367 acres across State Game Lands 244, 195, and 320 in Jefferson County. The procurement involves comprehensive herbicide application along roadways and drainage ditches, with treatment blocks following a 40-foot width as depicted in the provided maps. Contractors must supply all necessary resources including labor, tools, equipment, herbicide, water, surfactants, dyes, and adjuvants, with the project requiring a price-per-acre bid format. Key deliverables include complete herbicide application according to specified treatment parameters, with the contractor responsible for ensuring comprehensive coverage and adherence to environmental treatment protocols. The bid was originally posted on December 21, 2023, with an initial due date of January 9, 2024, though a bid extension was noted on December 28, 2023. Primary contacts for this procurement are Ben Caun, PGC Forester, and Miles Laubacher, Wildlife Habitat Group Supervisor, both located at the Northwest Region office in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
The solicitation does not explicitly indicate any specific set-aside designations, disadvantaged business enterprise requirements, or restrictions on contractor participation. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and the documents do not reference specific integration requirements with existing infrastructure or technologies. While a precise budget range is not specified, the contract will be awarded based on the submitted per-acre pricing, with the total project scope covering 367 acres of treatment area. Potential bidders should have demonstrated expertise in herbicide application, environmental treatment techniques, and the capability to mobilize appropriate equipment and personnel to complete the statewide game lands project. Contractors will be expected to provide comprehensive insurance coverage and meet all operational specifications outlined in the bid documents. The procurement appears to be open to qualified environmental services or agricultural treatment vendors with appropriate licensing and experience in invasive species management.
