About this opportunity
The Northcentral Region of the Pennsylvania Game Commission is soliciting bids for a mechanical low shade removal project on 172 acres of State Game Land No. 089, located in Colebrook Township, Clinton County. The procurement involves felling trees with a diameter at breast height (DBH) between 1-7 inches, as well as all yellow-marked trees across four treatment blocks. Bidders are required to provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and services to complete the tree removal project, with a specific focus on removing undesirable low shade trees. The contract opportunity requires electronic bid submission through the Commonwealth's PA Supplier Portal by March 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with bids to be evaluated on a per-acre pricing basis. A mandatory site tour is scheduled for February 26, 2024, at 9:30 AM, where prospective bidders can review the project location and ask questions. The project must be completed by June 30, 2024, with no time extensions granted, and the Pennsylvania Game Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids based on what it determines to be in its best interest.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on bidder types are mentioned in the procurement documents. The contract does not indicate preferences for disadvantaged business enterprises or outline specific qualification requirements beyond the ability to complete the mechanical low shade removal work. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and there are no details about existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. While the documents do not specify a precise budget range or award value, the bid will be awarded based on the lowest price per acre for completing the 172-acre tree removal project. Interested contractors should be prepared to provide comprehensive pricing that includes all labor, equipment, tools, insurance, material disposal, and other necessary items for project completion. The Worker Protection Form indicates that bidders must comply with various Pennsylvania state labor and workplace safety laws, including the Construction Workplace Misclassification Act, Minimum Wage Act, and Prevailing Wage Act.
