About this opportunity
The County of San Bernardino Fleet Management Department is requesting bids for 2027 model year vehicle pricing under ITB No. VHS126-FL000-6440, with questions due July 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and bids due August 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. A 5% local vendor preference applies to vendors with principal place of business within San Bernardino County. This is a federally funded procurement subject to Clean Air Act and Federal Water Pollution Control Act compliance for contracts exceeding $150,000 and anti-lobbying certifications for contracts exceeding $100,000.
The scope covers approximately 130 light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles across multiple categories: full-size and mid-size sedans, mid-size and full-size SUVs, pickup trucks (150/1500, 250/2500, 350/3500 series in crew cab, extended cab, and configurations), cargo vans (half-ton and 1-ton), passenger vans (7-, 12-, and 15-passenger), Ford Police Utility vehicles (5 units), Ford Explorer 4x4 (5 units), Chevrolet Silverado EVs (13 units), Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4x4 (1 unit), Ford Bronco 4x4 (3 units), and side-by-side utility ATVs (15 units). Specialized vehicles include snow plow trucks with Rock King plow systems and animal control trucks with Pacific animal control bodies. The County requires bidders to submit pricing for gasoline engines, electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrids where available, specifying the longest-range battery options for electric and plug-in configurations. Certain heavy-duty trucks require SCAQMD Rule 1191 emissions compliance. All vehicles require detailed technology packages including Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, backup cameras, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Contract term runs August 10, 2026 through August 9, 2027. Pricing is Net 60 days after vehicle acceptance, FOB County destination. All prices must be stated per unit and exclude California sales/use tax, Federal excise tax, and freight, which are priced separately. All quantities are estimates subject to increase or decrease; actual needs will be communicated via individual purchase orders post-award. Contract award is tentatively scheduled for August–September 2026. Bids must be submitted electronically through San Bernardino County ePro or in sealed paper form to Fleet Management.
