About this opportunity
The Town of Braselton, Georgia, located in Barrow County, is seeking bids for a comprehensive groundwater expansion and distribution storage project. The procurement involves constructing a new water infrastructure system that includes two new groundwater wells, a packaged treatment system with chemical addition capabilities, a 1-million-gallon ground-level storage tank, and a high-service pump station. The project will also include 4,900 linear feet of 16-inch water main and associated system piping, designed to support a future interconnection with Barrow County. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Braselton Public Works, followed by an on-site visit. Sealed bids are due on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Braselton Town Hall, with the project award to be made within 60 calendar days of bid opening. The total project completion time is set at 300 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, and bidders must submit a bid bond or certified cashier's check equal to 5 percent of the total bid amount.
The procurement has specific requirements for contractor participation, mandating that the prime contractor must perform a minimum of 30 percent of the contract work. The project is financially supported by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority and the American Rescue Plan Act, which introduces specific compliance requirements for Equal Employment Opportunity participation and the Byrd Anti-Lobbying Amendment. Contractors will need to provide comprehensive insurance, workers' compensation insurance, and performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract value. Printed contract documents are available for a non-refundable fee of $250.00, with free digital copies obtainable from Jessica James at Engineering Management, Inc. Technical inquiries should be directed to Wiley Helm at the same organization. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the project's compliance requirements suggest a commitment to inclusive procurement practices. Digital copies of contract documents, specifications, and construction drawings can be requested via email or phone, facilitating broad access to bidding information.
