About this opportunity
Binghamton University is seeking a qualified contractor to complete volleyball court improvements across three campus communities: Mountainview, Newing, and Dickinson. The comprehensive project involves full demolition of existing site features and comprehensive reconstruction, including installation of new volleyball nets, posts, borders, sand, lighting, tension netting, chain link fencing, windscreen, and sidewalk elements. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm in conference room C of the Physical Facilities Building, with prospective bidders required to purchase bid documentation from nyplanroom.com to be considered responsible participants. The contract has a defined completion timeline of 170 calendar days, with a final completion date of October 31, 2025. Bid submissions are due on April 2, 2025, at 2:30 PM, with all official notifications, addenda, and bidding documents to be distributed exclusively through the designated website.
The procurement opportunity includes specific subcontracting goals targeting minority and women-owned businesses, with a 15% goal for both minority-owned and women-owned subcontractors, and an additional 6% goal for service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. While this is not a service-disabled veteran-owned set-aside contract, the university has established clear participation objectives for diverse business enterprises. No previous contractors with identical or substantially similar contracts were identified in the past five years. The project is located in Broome County, New York, specifically at Binghamton University, and represents a significant infrastructure improvement initiative. Although a specific contract value was not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the volleyball court improvements suggests a substantial investment in campus recreational facilities.
