About this opportunity
Indiana University of Pennsylvania, part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, is seeking a Single Prime Contractor for the 2025 Steam Line Replacement Project (UP-1227). The project involves comprehensive replacement of existing buried medium pressure steam (MPS) and condensate pumped discharge (CPD) pipelines, with new lines routing through a buried trench system and overhead piping in the Co-Gen and Boiler House buildings. The lead contractor will be required to provide all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the construction according to contract specifications. A pre-bid conference and site visit is scheduled for February 25, 2025, at 1 PM in the Engineering & Construction Office, Robertshaw Building Room 1, located on the Indiana University of PA campus. Electronic bids are due no later than 2:00 PM EST on March 13, 2025, and must be submitted through PASSHE's ARIBA Sourcepoint website. Potential bidders must register on the platform to access solicitation documents, receive updates, and submit confidential bids.
There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types mentioned in the procurement documents. The bid package does not indicate incumbent vendors or provide explicit budget ranges for the steam line replacement project. Interested contractors must complete a free registration process on the ARIBA Sourcepoint platform to participate in the bidding. The procurement is open to mechanical construction contractors capable of meeting the technical specifications for steam and condensate line replacement. While the pre-bid conference is not mandatory, it is highly recommended for potential bidders to attend and gain comprehensive understanding of the project requirements. The procurement emphasizes the use of a secure, streamlined electronic bidding process that ensures supplier confidentiality and provides a transparent mechanism for bid submission and evaluation.
