About this opportunity
The state of Georgia, specifically Ware County, is seeking proposals for a natural gas reliability upgrade project through RFP #67728789d3284f53af024f18, with responses due by February 11, 2025. The contract will be signed approximately February 24, 2025, with an official start date of March 3, 2025, and will continue through December 31, 2025. Dalton Utilities is soliciting a contractor to perform comprehensive gas distribution system improvements, including construction of gas mains using steel and HDPE materials, installation of gas services through threaded and welded meter set builds, and related distribution work. The selected contractor must provide forty hours of labor per week, excluding holidays and inclement weather, and will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment and tools to complete the project. Critical performance requirements include comprehensive testing of all installed lines for leaks and immediate repair if pressurization reveals any deficiencies, with all work to be completed according to Dalton Utilities' specific technical specifications.
While the contract documentation does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or contractor restrictions, the technical complexity of the project suggests that respondents will need demonstrated expertise in natural gas infrastructure construction and distribution systems. The project appears to be a standard procurement without specified minority or disadvantaged business enterprise requirements. No incumbent vendor information is provided in the available documentation. The contract duration of approximately ten months indicates a substantial infrastructure improvement initiative, though specific budget ranges or total project value are not disclosed in the current solicitation. Prospective contractors will need to demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in gas main construction, service line installation, technical testing protocols, and adherence to utility-specific technical standards to be considered for this contract opportunity.
