About this opportunity
Dalton Utilities is seeking a contractor for the 2025 Electric Distribution Reliability Improvements project in Ware County, Georgia, with a contract scheduled to be signed on February 24, 2025, and a project start date of March 3, 2025. The procurement opportunity requires a contractor to perform comprehensive electrical distribution line work, including installing and removing poles, capacitor banks, transformers, switches, underground risers, pulling underground wire, re-conducting lines, and building new electrical distribution infrastructure. The project will encompass 40-hour work weeks through December 31, 2025, focusing on 7,200/12,470 and 14,400/24,940 VAC 3-phase overhead and underground distribution lines. Contractors must provide their own equipment and tools, with Dalton Utilities supplying all materials. The bid due date is February 11, 2025, and bids will remain valid for 60 days. Key qualifications include the ability to perform complex electrical infrastructure work and compliance with Dalton Utilities' Standard Specifications.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the documentation. Subcontracting is permitted, but contractors cannot subcontract more than 50% of any work portion without prior written approval from the owner, with exceptions for specialty subcontractors. Contractors must provide an Anti-Drug Plan and documentation for regulatory compliance, and possess all necessary licenses and permits from federal, state, and local authorities. While a specific budget range was not disclosed, the project involves comprehensive electrical distribution system improvements. Monthly progress payments may be required for projects exceeding 30 days, and the contractor will be responsible for a one-year warranty period following project completion. The scope of work suggests a significant infrastructure investment, though the exact financial value is not specified in the available documentation.
