About this opportunity
Parkland County in Alberta, Canada is seeking engineering and consulting services for a 2025 Asphalt Concrete Pavement (ACP) Preliminary Design project, which includes a comprehensive geotechnical investigation. The Request for Proposals (RFP) aims to support the county's asset management and long-range planning by evaluating pavement surface conditions and developing preliminary design information for rehabilitation of three roadways: two within the Acheson Industrial area and several streets in the Hamlet of Wabamun. The project's key deliverables include a detailed preliminary design, geotechnical assessment, and recommendations for road rehabilitation, aligning with the county's five-year capital plan. The RFP was posted on August 15, 2025, with proposals due by September 5, 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the provided information, the county will likely assess proposals based on technical expertise, understanding of the project scope, and demonstrated capability to conduct comprehensive geotechnical investigations and preliminary design work.
The contract opportunity appears to be open to engineering and consulting firms with expertise in road infrastructure design and geotechnical assessments. No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent types were mentioned in the provided information. Parkland County, a rural municipality west of Edmonton covering 256,802 hectares, serves a population of over 30,000 residents and is seeking professional services to support its infrastructure development. While no specific budget range or award value was provided, the scope suggests a substantial professional services contract focused on road rehabilitation planning. The project is part of the county's broader asset management strategy, indicating a potential for future related work and ongoing infrastructure improvement initiatives.
