About this opportunity

The Town of Fairfield, Connecticut, through its Department of Public Works, is seeking competitive bids for the 2024-83 Neighborhood Sidewalk Improvements project, funded by a DOT STEAP grant. The procurement is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for qualified contractors to provide comprehensive labor, materials, and equipment for ADA ramp and sidewalk improvements along Reef Road and Round Hill Road, located south/north of Fairfield center. The project's primary deliverables include removing existing deficient concrete and asphalt sidewalks, driveway aprons, and curbing, followed by the installation of new concrete sidewalks, concrete aprons, brick pavers, cast-in-place concrete, and concrete curbs (with an add alternate option). Bidders must submit detailed documentation, including project drawings, prevailing wage information, CHRO Contract Compliance Regulations, and a completed bid proposal pricing sheet. The solicitation period is open from July 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM EDT to July 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM EDT, with a vendor question and answer period running from July 1 at 2:15 PM EDT to July 11 at 11:00 AM EDT.

The ITB appears to be open to all vendors without specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational types. No incumbent vendor information is provided, and there are no explicit mentions of integration requirements with existing infrastructure or technology. The solicitation specifies delivery terms as Free On Board Destination with payment terms to be specified by the vendor. While the total estimated project value is not disclosed in the documentation, the project is funded through a DOT STEAP grant specifically allocated for ADA ramp and sidewalk improvements in the Fairfield center area. Contractors will be required to comply with prevailing wage requirements and provide documentation demonstrating compliance with Connecticut Statute 31-57b and other regulatory standards. The bid has been designated as having no specific line items, suggesting that vendors must provide comprehensive pricing for the entire project scope.
