About this opportunity

The City of Brookhaven, Georgia is requesting bids on ADA-compliant sidewalk and ramp repair, replacement, and installation across designated CDBG-eligible areas within Dekalb County under ITB 26-109, with proposals due July 8, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. EST via the Bonfire Portal and a pre-bid conference on June 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EST via Zoom. The project is funded entirely by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, making compliance with federal requirements mandatory and superseding all local contract general conditions.

Work encompasses removal and replacement of non-ADA-compliant sidewalks, sidewalk sections, curbing, and curb ramps; installation of detectable warning devices; and incidental grading and restoration across multiple locations on Curtis Drive NE and North Druid Hills Road, with individual work areas ranging from 39 to 322 square yards. All work must comply with Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Road Specifications and ADA Accessibility Standards and must be performed Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with lane closures limited to 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The contract term is ninety calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with substantial completion required within that period. Compensation is a lump-sum basis per individual work area per the Unit Price Schedule, with the price covering all labor, materials, tools, waste removal, erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and site restoration. Liquidated damages of $1,000 per calendar day apply for unexcused delay beyond substantial completion.

Bidders must be registered with SAM.gov and provide a valid Unique Entity Identifier; confirmation of SAM application is acceptable at bid submission if UEI is provided within ten days. All proposals must include executed Exhibit G (CDBG Federal Requirements and Certifications). Inquiries are due June 19, 2026 at 5:00 p.m., with an addendum posted by June 26, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Contact Purchasing Manager Tron D. Jones at Tron.jones@brookhavenga.gov.
