About this opportunity

The State of Georgia, through the jurisdiction of Peach County, is seeking bids for a dredging project on Long Swamp Creek within the City of Jasper. The work consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor to dredge approximately 3,000 cubic yards of accumulated sediments within 200 feet of the City of Jasper's water intake structure and dam. The project will be conducted "in the dry" by temporarily diverting the creek into an emergency spillway. The scope also includes repairing the storm-damaged emergency spillway. Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. local time on July 11, 2024, and the project must be substantially completed within 150 consecutive calendar days and finally completed within 180 days. Construction in the water must take place between September 2024 and March 2025, outside of the Etowah Darter and Cherokee Darter spawning windows. Bidders must provide a 5% bid bond, and the successful bidder will be required to furnish 100% performance and payment bonds.

The procurement is open to all qualified bidders, and there are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The current contractor is unknown, and the project does not require integration with any existing infrastructure or technology. The budget range for the project is not specified, but the advertisement notes that the owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
