2023/2024 Longleaf Planting at Blackwater River State Forest

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is seeking competitive bids for tree planting services within the Blackwater River State Forest in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Specifically, FDACS requires contractors to furnish labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to plant approximately 645 acres of containerized longleaf pine seedlings. The project must be completed between January 1, 2024 and February 15, 2024, and a site visit is recommended but not mandatory. Bids are due by November 2, 2023, and FDACS intends to make a single award or no award, as determined to be in the state's best interest. Contractors must have appropriate certifications and licenses, and provide references for similar past projects. Payment will be based on the bid price, with partial payments made upon satisfactory completion of services.

The project will be funded by the Friends of Florida State Forests and/or the Florida Forest Service, with any remaining cost paid by the Forest Service. The ITB does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. Additionally, no information is provided regarding incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration. The ITB also does not list any possible award values or budget ranges for the project.
